Blizzard is the official spokes-dog for Gentle Giants, Inc.  He was chosen to play this role because of his special story!

Blizzard is a 100% blind Great Pyrenees.  He was found all alone on the side of I-95 in Delaware County, PA in late November 2007.  He was immediately brought to the Delaware County Animal Shelter in Media, PA where he stayed for a short time.  No one came looking for him.

Blizzard was received into the care of Gentle Giants, Inc. on December 15, 2007.  He was approximately 30 pounds underweight and as a result, he was emaciated.  We brought him to the vet as soon as possible only to discover that he had pneumonia.  The vet said if we had waited a few more days he would have died from it.

Slowly, Blizzard started on the road to recovery.  He was on several medications including nebulizer treatments.  He began to eat more and more and soon he reached a healthy weight.

As soon as he became healthy enough, Blizzard was adopted out to a family who is giving him all the love and attention he deserves!
